Meetings
A Harvard Business Review report came out which hopefully will help boost the meetings and events industry. Amongst other things the research showed:
The report, based on a survey of 2,300 Harvard Business Review subscribers, found that:
* 79% believe that in person meetings are the most effective way to meet new clients to sell
* 89% agreed that face-to-face meetings are essential when it comes to finalising a sale; “sealing the deal”
* 95% said face-to-face meetings are a key factor in building and maintaining long term relationships.
That does not mean that the meetings and events inductry will ever get back to what it was like before, because the need to prove value will become more important as we move forward. However, it does show that a meeting has value if planned and executed well.
